As Mayor of Binghamton, I was honored to welcome President Barack Obama to our community on Friday. I’m proud of our city and the strides we have made to revitalize it. And I’m proud the president chose to come to the Binghamton University, a premier public institution, as affordable, quality education — the president’s focus during his trip through upstate New York — is exemplified by SUNY Binghamton, a top-notch, leading public university.
Such a tremendous asset is key to the economic opportunities we have ahead of us in Binghamton and the surrounding region. We’ve obviously been hit hard and have our serious economic challenges, but with the right initiatives, our future looks bright. Read more..
